For the Bulgarian audience there is a second layer. The Deep Purple–Elf–Rainbow story is one of the key chapters in hard rock. Ritchie Blackmore left the band in 1975 after meeting Ronnie James Dio and the musicians from Elf. If you want to understand why this date is more than “another classic rock giant”, that context changes how you watch the show.

Gillan is not Coverdale and he is not Dio. That matters, because fans often collapse the band’s eras into one legend. Do not expect a museum restaging of a single 1972 album. Expect a two-hour set that mixes the mandatory hits with proof that they still play as a band, not a tribute to themselves.

Arena 8888 is a large hall. The sound is usually powerful, but the balance depends heavily on where you sit. The front rows give proximity, not always the best mix. For a two-hour hard-rock set, middle or slightly back is often more sensible if you want the keyboards as well as the guitar.

Allow realistic time for entry. Big names mean queues before 20:00. If you want merch, check official and local options beforehand so you are not relying only on the hall stall.

If you are travelling from another city, plan the return after the show, not only the arrival. It ends late, and taxis around large halls load fast.
